FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used in spot welding of a unit from at least two steel substrates to produce at least one spot weld. One of substrates (3, 3') is a press-hardened steel part produced by press hardening a steel sheet coated with an aluminium-based coating. Cycle (21) of spot welding is performed, which consists of at least three pulsations (22, 32, 42), each of which is characterized by the same maximum pulsation current (Cp) supplied through the above substrates. Duration p of each pulsation is the same and ranges from 20 to 60 ms. Each pulsation is followed by the same cooling time period c making from 30 to 50 ms, welding parameter Wp is at least 0.8 and is defined as Wp=(t×c)/p, where t is average thickness of substrate, mm, c is cooling time, ms, p is duration of pulsations, ms.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the range of welding current with minimum splash of metal during welding.
