According to the invention, intelligent electronic control and communications interface module for a thermal energy storage module comprises means for bi-directionally communicating data between a thermal energy storage module, two or more parties that supply or receive heat energy from the thermal energy storage module, and a smart grid, comprising other thermal energy suppliers or consumers, as well as suppliers of other forms of energy that can be converted into thermal energy, where said data comprise data concerning the current status of the storage capacity of the thermal energy storage module, and requests to store thermal energy or to discharge thermal energy, wherein said interface module is configured for shared and prioritised storage management of energy by two or more parties, and said priorities are adapted dynamically in response to the dynamically changing needs of different parties and the cost of energy.
EFFECT: technical result is providing shared and prioritised management of energy storage by two or more parties.
