FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing honeycomb thin-walled energy absorbers. Energy absorber is made in the form of a cellular structure with cells of arbitrary shape made of a metal powder with a dispersion of less than 50 mcm by means of layer-by-layer 20–40 mcm laser fusion according to a pre-designed 3-D model.
EFFECT: result is the improved quality of the honeycomb energy absorber along with maintained high physical and mechanical properties and the absence of waste.
