FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing, by selective laser fusion, metal powder of a welding tool used for friction stir welding of aluminum deformable alloys. Selective laser fusion of metal powder with particle size of less than 63 mcm is carried out on a massive metal platform with its layer-by-layer penetration according to designed 3D model. Welding tool is obtained, having guide grooves with deviation from generatrix by 60°. Each powder layer is applied with thickness of 40 mcm by means of a leveling device, and the obtained tool is subjected to vibratory finishing.
EFFECT: increase in the volume of captured metal during friction stir welding in one revolution to level of 0.1–0.2 g/mm per unit of thickness of the welded material and welding speed by 150% due to application of tool of complex geometrical shape with 2, 3 or 6 guide grooves with deviation from generatrix.
