SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and relates to methods for determining chromium (III) and iron (III) ions in solution in a co-presence. Method for determining the concentration of chromium (III) and iron (III) ions in a joint presence in solution involves adding 4 ml of Trilon B solution (concentration 80 g/l) to the analyzed solution containing chromium (III) and iron (III) ions, heating the resulting mixture in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes, cooling the mixture to room temperature, adding 0.5 ml of an aqueous ammonia solution to the cooled mixture, distilling up to 25 ml with distilled water, determination of the optical density of the solution and the calculation of the ion concentration from the calibration curves, with the measurement of the optical density being carried out at 660 nm for chromium (III) ions and at 315 nm for iron (III) ions.
EFFECT: method for determining the concentration of chromium (III) and iron (III) ions is proposed.
