SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of di(2-ethylhexyl)terephthalate, comprising combining terephthalic acid and 2-ethylhexanol to form a mixture; heating the mixture from first temperature (T1) to second temperature (T2) without the catalyst contained in the mixture; combining the titanium catalyst with the mixture, after the mixture reaches second temperature (T2); increasing pressure from first pressure (P1) to second pressure (P2), after the mixture reaches second temperature (T2); and increasing the temperature of the mixture from second temperature (T2) to third temperature (T3) while maintaining second pressure (P2).
EFFECT: invention also relates to a plasticizing composition and a plastisol composition.
