FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the aircraft and machine building industry and can be used in the creation of parts from structural materials, in particular for the manufacture of rocket radomes, which have high strength in combination with good dielectric characteristics at high temperatures and resistance to thermal shock. In a process for producing a composite material comprising impregnating a billet of a sintered silica with a porosity of 7.0–12.0 % by a solution of oligomethylphenyl spirosiloxane in MOCS-8 acetone, drying in air for 3–24 hours, polymerization, polymerization is carried out at a temperature of 390–410 °C for 2–3 hours. Then, the bulk is impregnated with a solution of oligomethylphenyl spirosiloxane in MOCS-8 acetone for 2–30 hours, is further dried in air for 3–24 hours. Polymerisation is made again at 290–310 °C for 2–3 hours.
EFFECT: increase in the thermal stability of the resulting composite material, which also has increased strength, low gas permeability values while maintaining the dielectric properties at a high level.
