FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio communication in the millimeter wavelength range and, in particular, to the methods of eliminating the angular orientation error of antennas in the "point-point" millimeter-wave communication systems with narrow main lobe diagrams. Method for eliminating the antenna angular orientation error in a point-to-point communication system consisting of two transceivers between which a connection is established involves transmitting the modulated radio signals by the first transceiver; receiving signals transmitted by the first transceiver, and measuring the received signal powers by the second transceiver. In order to eliminate the error in the angular orientation of the antenna of the first transceiver carry out the following steps: transmitting signals with first transceiver with sequential switching of the antenna used for transmitting the radiation pattern from a set consisting of two diagrams with different angular orientations of the maximum of the radiation pattern; receiving and measuring the powers of the signals transmitted by the first transceiver using the two beam patterns of the antenna from said set with the second transceiver; determining the magnitude and direction of the angular orientation error of the antenna of the first transceiver in one plane as a result of processing by the second transceiver of measured signal powers, transmitted by the first transceiver using two antenna patterns from said set; and a mechanical change in the orientation of the antenna of the first transceiver in one plane. To eliminate the angular orientation error of the antennas of the second transceiver carry out the following steps: transmitting signals with the first transceiver; receiving and measuring signal powers with the second transceiver with sequential switching used to receive the antenna pattern from a plurality, consisting of two diagrams with different angular orientations of the maximum of the radiation pattern; determining the magnitude and direction of the error in the angular orientation of the antenna of the second transceiver in one plane as a result of processing by the second transceiver of measured signal powers, received by the second transceiver using two antenna patterns from said set; and a mechanical change in the orientation of the antenna of the second transceiver in the same plane.
EFFECT: technical result consists in accelerating the process of selecting the optimal angular orientation of the antennas of one of the transceivers or two transceivers forming a point-to-point communication system during initial installation or during operation.
