FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used in assessing the hygienic state of the oral cavity in patients with removable dentures-obturators with defects in the dentition and jaws. Define the generalized index of the hygienic state of the jaw prosthesis-obturator by the formula where the index of the hygienic state of the internal surface of the prosthesis-obturator is calculated by the formula and the index of the hygienic state of the outer surface of the prosthesis-obturator by formula when calculating the index of the internal surface, the indices of the internal surface of the basis of the prosthesis and obturator are calculated by formulas and respectively. On the inner surface of the jaw prosthesis-obturator, the plaque is recorded in three sectors on a basis: sector 1 – in the region of the incisive papilla and the missing anterior group of teeth, sector 2 – is determined by conducting a midline on the inner surface of the prosthesis base along the palatal region from the vertex of the bridle of the upper lip to the distal border of the prosthesis, dividing it by the perpendicular drawn along the center of this line, and perpendicular, approximately in the area of absent teeth 1.4 and 2.4, sector 3 – sector of the preserved maxillary hillock, approximately in the areas of missing teeth 1.7 and 2.7, and also in five sectors of the obturator, having the letter designation: sector A located on the front surface of the neck of the obturator, sector B is the surface of the neck of the obturator in the region of the midline, sector C – obturator plateau, sector D – sector of the buccal surface of the neck of the obturator, sector E – sector of the posterior surface of the neck of the obturator. Evaluation of the external surface of the jaw prosthesis-obturator is carried out in the projection of sectors 1, 2, 3, A, and C internal surface of the orthopedic structure. Amount of plaque on the inner and outer surfaces of the jaw prosthesis-obturator is assessed using a dental spatula and visually and interpreted as follows: 0 – no plaque, 1 – plaque is visible only when the blunt object is scraped off the prosthesis, 2 – zone is partially covered with visible plaque, 3 – zones are completely covered with visible plaque, 4 – solid deposits are noted on the prosthesis.
EFFECT: method provides quantitative assessment of the hygienic state of the external and internal sides of the jaw prosthesis-obturator.
