METHOD OF MANUFACTURING JAW PROSTHESIS-OBTURATOR Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61C13/07 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for orthopedic rehabilitation: of patients with post-operative defects of upper jaw. Before operation impressions of patient's jaws are obtained. Models, in compliance with data of bite and face bow registration are obtained. Models are fixed in articulator. Immediately after operation, impression of patient's upper jaw with post operational defect is obtained. Gypsum model is produced by impression. External boundaries of operation field are engraved in vertical and horizontal direction with width and depth equal 2.0-2.5 mm. Model is duplicated with silicone mass. Polyurethane model is produced by silicone form. Obturator template is modelled in such a way that lateral cheek-facing surface of obturator has maximum possible height and rounded butt end part, which rests against bone structures of upper boundary of post-operative defect, covering cheek cicatrical bundle. Openings in form of reverse cone are formed on its base. Obtained composition is re-duplicated by silicone mass and replaced with elastic polyurethane, which is placed on model. Base of prosthesis is modeled above it from wax by filling of bowl-shaped openings obturator base with wax. Placement of artificial teeth is performed and wax is replaced with hard polyurethane by method of casting. Gates are cut off, obtained jaw prosthesis-obturator is grinded and polished.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure reliable fixation of prosthesis, improve aesthetic characteristics of patient, restore their phonetics due to stabilisation of jaw prosthesis-obturator in jaw defect cavity.
