FIELD: images forming devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a separating apparatus for separating a toner and a carrier liquid from a liquid developer and to an image forming apparatus. Separating device for separating the toner and the carrier liquid from the liquid developer comprises: an electrically conductive electrode roller, an electrode element provided with a gap between it and an outer peripheral surface of said electrode roller, said electrode member being capable of applying voltage to create an electric field for moving the toner to said roller electrode between said roller electrode and said electrode member, wherein the end portion of the gap located upstream of the direction of rotation of said roller electrode, is provided with respect to the direction of the gravity above the end portion of the gap located downstream in relation to the direction of rotation, a feeding station configured to supply the liquid developer to the gap from an upstream end portion of the gap, collection portion provided below the end portion of the gap located upstream of the direction of gravity, and configured to collect a carrier fluid from said roller electrode at a side downstream of said electrode member relative to the direction of rotation, an offset roller provided lower downstream of said electrode member relative to the direction of rotation and capable of rotating in the same direction of the peripheral motion, as said roller-electrode, being in contact with said roller-electrode in a position opposite to said roller-electrode, said collecting roller being capable of applying voltage to create an electric field for moving the toner to said collecting roller between said collecting roller and said roller electrode, and a squeegee configured to collect the toner from said collecting roller while in contact with said collecting roller in the opposite direction relative to the direction of rotation of said collecting roller, when the line passing through the center of said electrode roller and the vertex of said electrode roller is 0° relative to the direction of gravity, the upstream end of the gap is positioned in the range of 0° or more to less than 180° With respect to the direction of rotation of said roller electrode, when the line passing through the center of said collecting roller and the top of said collecting roller is 0° relative to the direction of gravity, the contact position of said squeegee with said collecting roller is in the range of 35° or more on the upstream side of the contact position between said collecting roller and said roller electrode relative to the direction of rotation of said collecting roller.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of the ability to separate between the carrier liquid and the toner, as well as in improving the reuse efficiency of the carrier fluid.
