Disclosed is the steel galvanized pipes in water supply systems corrosion identification method using corrosion indicators in the form of carbon steel pre-treated plates, in which the pre-prepared steel indicator sample is placed under the cold or hot water stream in the investigated water supply system and is held until permanently attached to the indicator sample surface corrosion products formation. Then it is extracted, dried and the corrosion intensity in the cold or hot water supply system is determined by increase in the zinc and / or copper content in the corrosion deposit composition on the indicator sample surface.

EFFECT: possibility of the method application directly from the beginning of the water supply system operation, and shortening the time for the pipelines with protective coating and equipment corrosion presence identification in the course of continuous operation.
