FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of synthetic high viscosity polyalphaolefin base oils. Method comprises performing co-oligomerization of the monomers in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst, the formation of the co-oligomerizate and washing thereof is characterized in that co-oligomerization of propylene and octene-1 is carried out at a propylene: octene molar ratio of 3:4 to 2:1, partial propylene from 0.29 to 0.56 MPa, the catalyst is a mixture of modified methylaluminoxane MMAO-12 in toluene and bis(isopropylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride in toluene, has a mole ratio Al/Zr=(500–1,000), the amount of Zr – (36–9) mcmol, the washed co-oligomerizate is subjected to rectification to remove uncondensed hydrocarbons, unreacted monomer and dimers, and hydrogenation of the recovered oil fraction by 5 % Pe/γ-Al2O3 catalyst.
EFFECT: proposed method allows to increase the conversion of octene-1, to increase the yield of synthetic base oil, to obtain highly index low-hardening synthetic high viscosity base oils with a viscosity range from 40 to 100 mm2/s.
