FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of synthetic oils based on alpha-olefins, specifically to processes of oligomerization of octene-1 or mixtures of alpha-olefins C8-C14. Method for producing polyalphaolefins with a kinematic viscosity of 10–25 cSt and a low pour point, oligomerization or co-oligomerization of alpha-olefins C8-C14 on the catalyst. Catalyst is a system based on ethylaluminum dichloride (EADC) and chlorocyclohexane (CCH) at a molar ratio of EADC:CCH, equal to 0.5–5, and an organic amine, as an additive to the catalyst in an amine/EADC ratio of 0.001 to 0.284. Catalytic system is formed in situ when the components of the catalyst system are dosed into the alpha-olefin feed at a temperature of 40–90 °C in the intensive mixing mode at a speed of 150–300 rpm. Catalyst is taken in the sum of the components in an amount of 0.5–2.1 wt. % of the weight of the alpha-olefin feed.

EFFECT: producing polyalphaolefins with a viscosity of 10–25 cSt with a high yield on an accessible catalyst.
