FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine, in particular to a method for predicting a disease of the distal limb in a cattle. Method is characterised in that in the contents of the rumen and blood determine the level of the molecules of the "average" mass (MAM), in the blood determine the activity of the antihistamine factor (AHF) with subsequent evaluation of the results, while the increase in MAM in rumen content at a wavelength of 237 nm is more than 2.0 conv. units, MAM in the blood serum at a wavelength of 254 nm is more than 0.3 conv. units, and the titer of AHF of more than 1:160 indicates a high probability of development within 10÷15 days of orthopedic diseases and the need for preventive measures.
EFFECT: use of the invention will predict the disease of the distal extremity in cattle.
