SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition, in particular to methods for correcting the range of scattering of high-explosive fragmentation extended range projectiles. By the method, the firing time of the fuze brake device is calculated. Enter this time value into the fuze calculating device. Measure the burning time of solid fuel in base bleed of the projectile from the moment the projectile leaves the gun barrel and until the burning process ends. In the calculated time of activation of the fuze brake device, a correction is made taking into account the measured burning time of the solid fuel of the gas generator. At the same time, the combustion of fuel in the gas generator is stopped by the explosion of a piece of explosive, installed in the zone of burning of solid fuel, with a mass that does not lead to detonation of the explosive of the projectile when it is blasted. Under the action of the shock wave from the explosion of the checker, the remains of the unburned solid fuel are ejected from the cavity of the gas generator. At the end of the solid fuel combustion process, the moment of fixation by the acoustic device installed in the head fuze, the acoustic pulse accompanying the explosion of the checker with the explosive, is taken.
