FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: pressure vessel (A) is used for device (B) for intermittently supplying a predetermined amount of powder to powder transfer line (7), when this powder is transported by compressed air in the "plug flow" through transfer line (7). Reservoir (A) has first compartment (6) under pressure, i.e. a high pressure chamber, which has funnel-like upper partition (3), which has an opening, and funnel-shaped lower partition (4), which also has an opening; first check valve (9), which is provided under the opening of upper partition (3) of first compartment (6) under pressure and is vertically movable so that in order to close the opening of upper partition (3), it can be moved upwards by means of compressed air. There is second shut-off valve (10), which is provided under opening of the lower partition (4) of first compartment (6) under pressure and is vertically movable, so that in order to close the opening of lower partition (4), it can be moved upwards by means of compressed air. Resilient body (24) urges up second stop valve (10). Reservoir and a device for intermittently supplying a predetermined amount of powder to the pipeline are used to implement a method for intermittently feeding a powder into a transfer line.

EFFECT: inventions provide a reduction in energy consumption for air supply.
