FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tamping machines. Tamping machine consists of a machine frame, an assembly frame, a tamping assembly and an assembly for lifting the track. Machine frame rests on two rail running gears. Assembly frame is located between the running gears of the machine frame. Assembly frame is moved along the track by means of the running gear and is connected to the machine frame by a frame support. Tamping assembly and the assembly for lifting the track are installed on the assembly frame. Assembly frame can be rotated relative to the machine frame around the longitudinal axis of the machine.
EFFECT: reduction of loads transferred to the machine frame.
