FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to technologies for automatically adjusting camera exposure for biometric user identification on a computing device. Method for automatically adjusting the exposure for the camera is proposed. Method comprises the step of capturing an image of a user's face. Next, a global assessment of the exposure of the camera on the captured face of the user is carried out. First condition is checked: if the first condition is not satisfied, the first approximation E* is obtained to the optimum value of the camera exposure and suboptimal adjustment of camera parameters values in accordance with the first approximation.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure correct adjustment of camera exposure, which guarantees the most effective biometric identification of the user.
