SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to address book based picture matching techniques. Disclosed is an address book based picture matching method. Method comprises a step of selecting or creating a new contact and establishing a picture index table therefor. Further, the method comprises obtaining the portrait identification parameters of the contact. Method also comprises selecting pictures from a picture database, extracting all portrait identification data of the selected picture, matching the portrait identification parameters with all the portrait identification data of the selected picture one after another and adding the picture information of the selected picture to the picture index table if any one of all the portrait identification data is matched with the portrait identification parameters successfully.
EFFECT: technical result is to ensure the creation of a new contact by means of a picture index table for a contact.
