SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, in particular to an inhibitor of sulfurous corrosion in water-hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon corrosive environments with a high content of sulfur-containing compounds, including hydrogen sulphide, chlorides and other factors of corrosive activity for the protection of metal equipment and pipelines against corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement; application of N-methyl-para-anisidine as an inhibitor of sulfurous corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement in water-hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon corrosive environments containing hydrogen sulfide.
EFFECT: invention helps to reduce the corrosion rate and hydrogen embrittlement of metals in hydrogen sulfide-containing media.
