SUBSTANCE: invention relates to imaging and data display. Non-transitory computer-readable storage medium in which a program for execution by a processor is stored, wherein said program includes instructions for extracting an object in a digital image by performing steps including: forming a digital image; obtaining an instruction for selecting an object on the digital image; selecting a plurality of representative pixels that are evaluated as being within the boundaries of said object; calculating a representative colour from the plurality of representative pixels; selecting pixels of the digital image, and calculating for each pixel of the Euclidean distance to the representative colour, and if the Euclidean distance is within the specified threshold value, identifying the pixel as belonging to said object, and generating a plurality of masks, wherein each mask stores the values of various characteristics of the pixels belonging to the object.

EFFECT: technical result is improved accuracy of image conversion.
