SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to a smoking article, a filter, and a method for manufacturing a smoking article. Smoking article comprises a filter structure comprising a first filter section and a second filter section upstream of the first filter section; and ventilation structure, that is arranged to provide a user-adjustable ventilation level in the first filter section, the smoking article comprising a first portion and a second portion, and the ventilation level can be selected by selecting the position of the second part relative to the first part; the resistance to the gaseous flow along the length of the second filter section is less than the resistance to the gaseous flow along the length of the first filter section; and the resistance to the gaseous flow along the length of the filter design remains substantially constant with a varying ventilation level.

EFFECT: technical result of the group of inventions is the ability to provide a filter section with a large pressure drop per unit length in front of the filter section with a lower pressure drop per unit length and performing a ventilation system in such a section.
