FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article. Smoking article comprises a tobacco rod wrapped within a wrapping material and having first and second ends; a filter rod; and ventilation into filter rod; wherein filter rod is connected to first end of tobacco rod by a tipping material partially overlapping tobacco rod and at least partially overlapping filter rod; and wherein wrapping material is provided with a first region having a first permeability and porosity,first region extending longitudinally along tobacco rod from an intermediate position along portion of tobacco rod which is not overlapped by tipping material, and with a second region having a second porosity and permeability higher than respective first porosity and permeability, second region extending longitudinally along tobacco rod from intermediate position towards second end of tobacco rod; and wherein ventilation is provided by air drawn through porous material for filter wrapper enclosing filter rod.

EFFECT: providing more uniform profile of puffs during whole cycle of smoking in a relatively simple manner and without need to use for this purpose such additional additives to tobacco core as adsorbents and combustion accelerators.
