SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of drilling wells for various purposes, namely the construction of pipe joints with conical locking threads. Lock for the drill pipe includes a tapered threaded joint consisting of a coupling and a nipple. Thread is made two-way. Moreover, the inner cylindrical surface of the pre-threaded groove of the coupling forms, in conjunction with the cylindrical threaded surface of the pin, a stabilizing joint with a clearance of 0.2 to 1.0 mm. Nipple is made with a tapered stabilizing surface with a transition from the cylindrical groove surface to the thrust shoulder with a rounding radius of 0.1 to 2.5 mm. Thread is made with a stroke equal to 1.7 to 2.2 steps of a single-threaded thread. Method of manufacturing a lock for a drill pipe involves threading the coupling and nipple.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the operational durability of the lock joint, an increase in the resistance of the lock to bending.
