FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a connecting rod of variable length, the effective length of which can be varied, and to a variable compression ratio internal combustion engine. Proposed connecting rod of variable length includes a connecting rod body, an eccentric element, the first piston mechanism, the second piston mechanism and a flow direction switching mechanism. Eccentric element, the first piston mechanism, the second piston mechanism and flow direction switching mechanism are provided in the connecting rod body. Configurations of the first piston mechanism and the second piston mechanism allow the eccentric element to rotate. Connecting rod body has an oil control channel that communicates with the first port and the flow direction switching mechanism. Flow direction switching mechanism is switched between the first state and the second state by means of switching pins.
EFFECT: switching pins are arranged in such a way that the directions in which the switching pins are activated are inclined with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the first port.
