SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication equipment. Method of external quality control of the services provided by the communication network consists in setting measurement object; transmitting and receiving pulse sequence; detecting bit errors; counting their number; setting additional initial data: pairs of correspondent subscribers; test sequence known to a given pair of subscribers consisting of K bits, the required probability of a bit error (Perr); periodicity (Tme) of measuring the probability of a bit error (Perr) at the maximum transmission rate (Vmax tr); in a continuously functioning network, under real operating conditions, transmitting and receiving test sequence between a pair of correspondent subscribers at the maximum transmission rate (Vmax tr); calculating probability of a bit error (Perr) of the test sequence; memorizing in the matrix (M) their probability values in the information direction; compare values of the required bit error probability (Perr re) with bit error probability values (Perr) of the test sequence and form a signal confirming the quality of the communication services provided.

EFFECT: increased reliability of information on the quality of the communication services provided.
