FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a painting method for painting a component with a decorative element, in particular for painting a motor vehicle body component. Method of painting component (2) with decorative element (4), in particular for painting a vehicle body component, comprises applying a paint layer (3) to the component (2), in particular base coat layer (3), in particular using applicator (13), and also applying decorative element (4) with a limited area to component (2), in particular a moulding, a graphic image, a contrasting section or a pattern. Decorative element (4) includes a decorative element with a limited area on component (2). In addition, the method includes drying component (2) to reduce the volatile component content. Component (2) is dried only on a limited area inside dried area (5, 8). Dried area (5; 8) at least partially includes a decorative area. Dried area (5; 8) is moved along component (2), in particular by means of a multi-axis drying robot that moves drying device (1) over component (2). Painting unit for painting component (2) with decorative element (4), in particular for painting a vehicle body component, comprises applicator (13) for applying paint layer (3) onto component (2), in particular base coat layer (3), and for applying decorative element (4) with a limited surface area to component (2), in particular a moulding, a graphic image, a contrasting section or a pattern. Decorative element (4) includes a decorative area with a limited surface area on component (2). Apparatus also comprises drying device (1) for drying component (2) to reduce the content of volatile components. Drying device (1) dries component (2) only in a limited area inside dried area (5, 8). Dried area (5; 8) at least partially includes a decorative area. Drying device (1) moves drying area (5; 8) on component, in particular by means of a multi-axis drying robot that moves drying device (1) over component (1).
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is significant reduction in the consumption of time and energy when drying a decorative element with a limited surface area, because not all of the surface of the structural part is dried, but only the dried area with a limited surface area.
