SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmic surgery, and can be used to express the vital dye for contrasting intraocular structures of the posterior segment of the eye. To do this, a comparison is made between the iron-induced chemiluminescence of the model free-radical oxidation system into which the test solution of the vital dye is added at therapeutic doses. As a model system, a phosphate buffer is used, including distilled water, KH₂PO₄ and KCl, sodium citrate and luminol. At the same time, the resulting solution with a pH of 7.45 un. add the egg yolk. Test solution of the vital dye is added by titration into the model system in a ratio of 1:5 for development of the chemiluminescence process. Intensity of chemiluminescence is judged on the processes of peroxide oxidation of lipids that are similar in composition to blood lipids. Safety or retention time of the antioxidant properties of the vital dye solution in a biological medium is judged by reducing the slow flare when adding a solution of the vital dye to the model system containing lipids of the chicken yolk.

EFFECT: invention allows to improve the accuracy of assessing the quality of vital dyes, including those with prooxidant and antioxidant activity, in terms of lipid peroxidation parameters.
