FIELD: examination of documents.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of forensic science and can be used to determine the authenticity of a printed document made by the method of electrophotographic image formation. Claimed method of analyzing the document under investigation is made by the method of electrophotographic image formation, in which the level of noisiness of the surface of the sheet by the toner particles or the smoothness of the toner image of the printed symbol is selected as the test parameter, and lighting conditions are selected based on the selected parameter. Illumination by optical radiation directed perpendicular to the surface of the sheet – to investigate the level of noisiness, and illumination by oblique optical radiation – to study the smoothness of the relief of the toner of the printed symbol. Then they take a photograph of the illuminated area of the document and, based on the analysis of the photograph, judge the examined document based on the parameter being examined.

EFFECT: identification of pre-print text, as well as the definition of the device on which the text is printed.
