FIELD: technological processes; measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the detection and control of the stress-strain state of a metal structure (object) under load and can be used to evaluate its strength and predict the load-bearing capacity. At controlled points on a structure in a deformed stressed state, measurements of surface deformations ε, the controlled points are selected in such a way that they have the possibility of additional loading regardless of the structure. At controlled points, additional deformations are created, using the known external force P, increase the strain by Δε in stepwise manner, detect change in the external force ΔPi until increase is more than some control value. Two cycles of measurements are carried out, in one of which additional deformations coincide in direction with the measured ones, while in the other they are opposite in direction, wherein the reference value is selected to be the same for both measurement cycles, after which the deformation of the structure is determined as half the difference in the measured additional deformations.
EFFECT: extending the range of application of the method and increasing the accuracy of measurements.
