FIELD: non-destructive testing of assemblies; parts and materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to test the strength of fixed detachable joints with a tight fit of the inner rings of axle bearings on the necks of the axles of wheel pairs of railway cars. When implementing the method, a sensitive element is placed on the surface of the contacting bodies, said surface is subjected to a mechanical load, which is created using a screw gear and fed from the ends along the outer surfaces of the controlled bearing rings. At the same time, they are affected by a monotonically increasing mechanical force not exceeding 5-10% of the strength of the connection, the logarithmic decrement of the ring deformation reduction in the direction of the force is determined using the sensitive element, and the tightness of the fit of the bearing ring on the axle is determined by the value of the logarithmic decrement, while the strength of the bearing ring is considered sufficient if the tightness value is the standard value.

EFFECT: simplifying the technology of control, implementation of a mobile method of non-destructive testing.
