FIELD: rocket technics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to missile technology, namely dual-mode jet engines. Mode of operation of the dual-mode jet engine includes operating in the first mode at an elevated pressure and operating in a second mode under reduced pressure in the combustion chamber. In this case, the cylindrical part of the combustion chamber housing is equipped with an outer coaxial sheath and ensure its fixed position relative to the body by temporarily bonding with it in the edge zones of the shell in the first operating mode of the engine. Then, the shell is dropped and its integrity preserved when it goes to the second mode of operation.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve the ballistic efficiency of the aircraft by reducing the passive weight of the engine by creating conditions that allow the wall thickness of the combustion chamber to be reduced in the second operating mode.
