FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: method of firing with a controlled artillery projectile is based on starting at the trajectory of a jet engine only when firing in the range of higher distances. The projectile comprises a jet engine with an air intake device, a jet and fuel with lack of oxidant. During firing for longer distance the jet engine is started in one of two modes. In one mode, when firing in the range of maximum distances - in the mode of a ducted rocket engine. In the other mode, when firing in the range of average distances - in the mode of a solid propellant rocket engine.
EFFECT: expanded range of longer distances of projectile flight.
