Process for the production of functional ceramics involves the preparation of a raw mix containing a natural clay mineral, fine carbon and water, filling the mold with a raw mixture, drying the high frequency current source in the field, and calcining. Drying and roasting are carried out simultaneously under the action of microwave radiation in three stages: first for 10 minutes at a microwave power of 300 W, then for 5 minutes at a microwave power of 500 W and finally for 5–10 minutes at a microwave power of 700 W. Carbon is introduced into the natural clay mineral in an amount of 10–20 % by weight.

EFFECT: increased productivity of the method with high performance characteristics of the finished product.
