FIELD: ceramic production.

SUBSTANCE: in a method for producing functional ceramics from natural unenriched clay raw materials, including the preparation of a raw mixture containing natural polymineral clay and water, the mould is filled with a raw mixture dried and fired, and drying and firing are carried out simultaneously under the action of microwave radiation. First, drying and firing are carried out for 5 minutes at a microwave power of 500 W, and then for 2 minutes at a microwave power of 800 W, after which the readiness of the raw mixture is assessed by the method of electron paramagnetic resonance using an EPR spectrometer according to the second derivative of the spectrum. As paramagnetic labels, manganese ions, which are part of polymineral clay, are used. In this case, if the presence of doublets is observed in the second derivative of the spectrum, then drying and firing are carried out until the complete disappearance of doublets, evaluating the readiness of the raw mixture on an EPR spectrometer every 2 minutes.

EFFECT: obtaining high performance characteristics of functional ceramics from natural unenriched clay raw materials.
