SUBSTANCE: invention relates to jacking and stabilisation means. Fire fighting vehicle (10) comprises a retractable lifting device, for example turnable ladder (12) and/or an aerial rescue platform, a jacking system. Jacking system comprises lateral ground supports (32, 34) for jacking vehicle body (30) and a stabilisation means for preventing tilting of vehicle body (30) in its jacked state. Stabilisation means includes hydraulically operable rear axle blocking device (36) for blocking the rear axle suspension (26) of vehicle (10). Stabilisation means further includes at least one hydraulically lockable shock absorber (44) integrated into front axle suspension (24) of vehicle (10), wherein rear axle blocking device (36) and hydraulically lockable shock absorber (44) are controlled by a common hydraulic control to lock hydraulically lockable shock absorber (44) at the same time or with a delay after activating rear axle blocking device (36).
