SUBSTANCE: invention relates to household kitchen appliances, in particular to methods for preparing brewed beverages and devices for preparing such beverages. Method of preparing a brewed beverage includes steps of: positioning a capsule having an ingredient for brewing a beverage on a lateral opening of brewing chamber (6); heating and conveying water to brewing chamber (6); feeding the heated water into brewing chamber (6); preparing the beverage in brewing chamber (6) by filling the capsule with the heated water; opening the valve in the outlet and filling container (4) with the brewed beverage; removing the capsule from the lateral opening of brewing chamber (6); rinsing the brewing chamber.
EFFECT: facilitating the rinsing of the brewing chamber.
