FIELD: beverage preparation devices.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus (1) for preparing brewed beverages, comprising brewing chamber (6), at which are provided an inlet for heated water and outlet (22) for the brewed beverage, wherein brewing chamber (6) has opening (20), at which can be arranged capsule (15) containing substances which facilitate the brewing operation, the capsule having capsule opening (12), which is connected, at least in part, to brewing chamber (6), and floor (18) opposite capsule opening (12), wherein floor (18) of capsule (15) has provided adjacent to it at least one light source (40), which emits light into floor (18) at entry surface (41), wherein floor (18) contains at least one light conductor (45), by means of which the light emitted into floor (18) is directed to at least one output surface (44) on floor (18) of capsule (15), and light detector (36) is arranged opposite the at least one output surface (44).
EFFECT: identification of the capsule can be carried out effectively as a result.
