FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a modular body structure and versions of a method of assembling a body structure in a vehicle. Method includes installing a body pillar having first and second ends, between the roof rail of body and a lower support, from the condition that the first end is located under the upper part of the roof rail of the body. Body pillar is attached to the roof rail of the body and the lower support by first threaded fasteners by frictional drilling of holes through the pillar and the roof rail of the body and the lower support.
EFFECT: reduction of the weight of the structure.
