SUBSTANCE: air intake for a helicopter gas turbine engine that removes particles of sand, dust and other foreign matter from the air, provides low pressure losses in the air flow at the engine inlet when the helicopter is operating under clean air conditions, and also allows to fully realize the velocity head on the helicopter’s cruising modes. When the helicopter operates in the conditions of polluted air, an air intake device cleans the air from foreign particles with the required level of purification and ensures a small loss of engine power.
EFFECT: as a result of the use of the proposed device, a significant improvement in fuel efficiency of the helicopter is ensured compared to other known and used air intake devices with air purification.
