FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry and non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the production of a coagulant based on aluminum polyoxychloride, used in the purification of drinking and waste water. Aluminum polyoxychloride is obtained from bauxite in 2 stages. First stage is deferrization of bauxite with hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 105 g/l at a ratio of T:F=1:10 for 15–60 minutes in the temperature range 80–103 °C. Solution is then filtered and bauxite is sent to autoclave leaching with hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 350 g/l at a ratio of T:F=1:5 for 4 hours and a temperature of 185 °C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the iron impurity content in the coagulant and improve the consumer qualities of the product.
