FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in non-ferrous metallurgy for bauxite processing by hydrochemical method. Bauxite is added with circulating solution and calcined solution at 1,200–1,300 °C lime in amount of 12–14 % of bauxite weight. Subsequent autoclave leaching is carried out at liquid : solid ratio of 3.0–3.5:1, pressure of 30–32 atm. and temperature of 230–235 °C.
EFFECT: proposed method provides extraction of aluminum oxide in solution equal to 94 %, from hard-to-open bauxites of diasporic and diasporic-bemite type in Bayer process; in addition, the method enables to obtain aluminate solutions with low content of silicon and iron.
