FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a collagen hydrolysate. Collagen hydrolysate for production as a biologically active additive, obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of type B bone gelatin, consisting of peptides having a molecular weight from 1,500 to 13,500 Da, whose average molecular weight is in the range of 4,500 to 6,000 Da. Biologically active additive containing a collagen hydrolysate. Process for the preparation of collagen hydrolysate, comprising steps of: obtaining an aqueous solution of type B bone gelatin, adding a neutral endoprotease from Bacillus subtilis, exposing the gelatin to the endoprotease, heating of the solution, drying said solution to produce collagen hydrolysate under defined conditions.
EFFECT: collagen hydrolysate described above has a high stimulating effect, especially on the synthesis of type I collagen.
