Use of collagen hydrolysate as an active ingredient for stimulating the conversion of body fat into muscle mass. Method for the treatment of sarcopenia, which comprises repeated oral administration of collagen hydrolysate to a patient in combination with muscle exercise.

EFFECT: above-described collagen hydrolysate effectively increases muscle mass, reduces fat mass and metabolic cost.
