SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a functionalised polymer. Method of producing a functionalised polymer includes steps of: (i) polymerising a conjugated diene monomer and, optionally, a monomer that is copolymerisable therewith to form a polymer having a reactive chain end; then (ii) reacting the reactive end of the polymer chain with an imine compound containing a cyano group, wherein the imine compound containing a cyano group is defined by formula I 
, where R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group, R2 is a bond or a divalent organic group, and R3 is a monovalent organic group, or where R1 and R2 are combined to form a trivalent organic group; or formula II 
, where R4 and R5, each independently, represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group, and R2 is a bond or a divalent organic group, or where R4 and R5 are combined to form a divalent organic group. Also claimed is a functionalised polymer, a tyre component and a curable composition.
EFFECT: technical result is that the resulting modified polymer has reduced hysteresis.
