FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a compound of formula (I) wherein at least R4 is -OR4a, R4 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and a silyl group which are used as intermediates for the preparation of SGLT2 inhibitors. Method comprises preparing a reaction mixture comprising a compound of formula (II), a silane reducing agent selected from the group consisting of tetramethyldisiloxane (TMDS), pentamethyldisiloxane (PMDS), polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS), and Et3SiH, a catalyst selected from the group consisting of B(C6F5)3, -BF3-THF, BF3-Bu2O, BF3-MeCN, BF3AcOH, BF3H3PO4 and BF3, and a solvent. (I) (II).
EFFECT: process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain the desired products in high yield.
