FIELD: lighting engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering. Lighting device includes a plurality of solid-state lighting elements (5) in an annular construction and an optical element. Optical element (10) comprises central cavity (20) extending from first aperture (12) to second aperture (14) of the optical element. Said central cavity (20) gradually expands in a direction from first aperture (12) to second aperture (14). Central cavity (20) is bounded by a set of transparent truncated cones (30) including the first truncated cone defining the first aperture and the last truncated cone defining the second aperture, each truncated cone having a prismatic outer surface (32) having first surface portion (34) tapering away from the second aperture to the first aperture and continuous inner surface (36). Respective continuous inner surfaces are combined to limit said central cavity (20). First truncated cone is located above the solid-state lighting elements so that the solid-state lighting elements are arranged to emit light into the first truncated cone. In addition, a luminaire including such a lighting device is claimed.
EFFECT: technical result is a wider range of equipment.
