FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiolocation and can be used for any aircraft having an underlying surface radar survey system on board. Technical result is achieved by using the monopulse principles of processing the output signals of Doppler filters implemented in the digital radar signal processing system in the underlying surface mapping mode.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the accuracy of measuring the azimuth (horizontal) angular position of radiocontrast terrestrial fixed targets when the radar is functioning in the aperture synthesis (AS) mode.
