SUBSTANCE: method comprises merging partial frames of a radar image, each obtained by emitting a coherent pulsed probing signal, irradiating the resultant directional pattern of the antenna of the on-board radar set of the corresponding partial area of the mapped surface, receiving reflected signals, analogue-to-digital conversion of received signals and digital processing of the obtained data. To eliminate uncertainty of the Doppler frequency of signals reflected from regions of the surface located on the left and the right side of the ground speed vector of the carrier of the on-board radar set, the disclosed method further includes receiving reflected signals of the difference azimuth directional pattern of the antenna and two-channel mono-pulse processing of the reflected signals.

EFFECT: high azimuth resolution and contrast of the partial frame of the radar image of an area of the surface close to the aircraft flight direction.
